AiKCalify

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 24 May 2026 · Last updated: 24 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how AiKCalify ("AiKCalify", "we", "us") handles information when you use the AiKCalify mobile application (the "App"). The App is operated by Lars Prins, an independent developer ("Developer").

We've tried to keep this readable. The short version: most of your data stays on your phone, photos are sent to an AI service for food identification and not retained by us, and you can email us to delete what we do hold.

1. Data we collect

1.1 Data you provide

1.2 Camera and photos

If you grant camera or photo-library access, you can take or select a picture of a meal. That photo is sent over HTTPS to our AI vision service (currently OpenAI) solely to identify the food items in the image. The photo is not stored on our servers after processing, and is not used to train AI models. A downscaled thumbnail is kept locally on your device alongside the meal log so you can review it later. You can delete any meal at any time from the Diary screen.

1.3 Apple Health (HealthKit)

If you connect Apple Health, the App may read steps, active energy, body mass and dietary energy, and may write dietary energy and body mass that you log in the App, so your data stays in sync across your devices. HealthKit data is never transmitted off your device by AiKCalify and is never shared with any third party. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.

1.4 Subscription and purchase data

Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous app-user ID, your country, and transaction metadata from Apple — never your name, email or payment details.

1.5 Analytics and advertising attribution

The App uses the following SDKs to understand how features are used and to measure marketing effectiveness:

These SDKs may receive your IDFV, app version, OS version, device model, country and the timestamp of events. If you decline App Tracking Transparency, the IDFA is not shared and conversion attribution is limited to Apple's SKAdNetwork / AdAttributionKit.

1.6 Crash and diagnostic data

If you've opted in to share analytics with developers in iOS, Apple may forward anonymised crash reports to us via Xcode Organizer.

2. How we use data

3. Legal bases (EU / UK / EEA users)

Where GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases:

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with:

Each of these is bound by their own terms and acts as a processor or independent controller as appropriate.

5. International transfers

The processors above operate globally. Where data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards published by each processor.

6. Retention

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to:

California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA including the right to know, delete, correct and opt out of "sharing". We do not sell personal information in the CCPA sense.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@aikcalify.com from the address associated with your account or include enough information for us to identify your records. We respond within 30 days.

8. Children

AiKCalify is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data in transit is protected with TLS. On-device data is protected by iOS sandboxing and the user's device passcode. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure; we can't guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable measures.

10. Health disclaimer

AiKCalify is a wellness tool, not a medical device. Calorie estimates from photographs are approximations. Do not use the App to manage a medical condition or eating disorder without consulting a qualified clinician. If you're struggling, the App includes a list of eating-disorder support resources under Profile → Resources.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email.
